The base is on National Park Land located off of the York River. Around base and outside the gates you can find lots of trenches like these that were used in the Civil War and battlefields from the Revolutionary War. If anyone is a History nut then the
Williamsburg, Yorktown, Jamestown triangle is a must see.
This is a half mile pier located on base. I soon found out that I did not have the right tackle to be fishing here, or at least that is my excuse.

Starting the trip off with a smile. We went to Perdido Florida and stayed right on the beach..it was great, No Oil or Tar Balls to ruin the fun. The water was amazing and the weather was pretty much perfect minus a few thunderstorms.
